Establised in 2013, experts in interantional distance education
The Institute of Occupational & Aviation Medicine was established in 2013 by staff of the Occupational and Aviation Medicine Unit at the University of Otago Wellington, New Zealand to undertake commercial activities based on the expertise of its staff. The OAM University department is a “virtual organization” with staff in Australasia, Middle East, North America and Europe, who lead international distance education programmes in occupational medicine, aviation medicine and aeromedical retrieval and transport.
The group is unique in marrying so many skills across these disciplines to solve problems in health care and industry, notably in the airline and petrochemical industries. Teaching staff are also available for non-distance teaching such as face to face short courses, consultancy and expert services.
